Great shave

Great shave and smooth enough on the skin for daily use, still. Still, I needed a few more pass in the neck // jaw area. Still, you can't go wrong, I 'm going to use this for daily shaving and use Merkur Futur for more aggressive shave

7 years with the sledgehammer-update

I’m a real user so will not use marketing language. It has been my main razor since I purchased it; here are the relevant points: I rarely shave every day because this shaves so closely, every 2 days is quite acceptable. It mows down up to 5 days growth without needing an electric trimmer, though will need more frequent rinsing. The blades (medium to high degree of sharpness) I use seem to have more longevity than my non slant razor, maybe because of the blade edge angle, not sure but it definitely affords 5 to 7 shaves per blade obviously with some edge dulling requiring patience towards the end. It's a tool and so like any tool, you need to use it consciously to get to know its tendencies and through trial and error you develop expertise in making it perform how you want it to for your specific needs. This takes time and that's a good thing, and it's why mindlessly shaving with a plastic razor with mediocre results was an unsatisfactory chore for me years ago. I now look forward to shaving and have for years because it is satisfying knowing I figured it out and it reliably does what I expect it to do. So, still satisfied and it's still my primary razor. Only issue is I have found that after 7 years, not sure when it started, corrosion has formed on the thread that fastens the head to handle- a greenish black rough spot that has eaten at the finish of the threads. There are also some rust spots above the thread. Otherwise the shiny silver finish on the outer body of the razor is just as good as when I first got it. It still works fine but I think in time it will no longer fasten properly as the corrosion continues. I have seen complaints about this. I never leave it in the shower or in water, instead I loosely assemble it and hang it on a vertical stand but haven't fussed over it much more than that. Maybe the occasional cleaning with soap and an old toothbrush when I think of it. To possibly address the corrosion issue, I recently cleaned it up with a soft wire brush and some wd40 brushing along the direction of the thread and later applied a very thin layer of dielectric grease (I had kicking around) to the affected areas to keep moisture away from it. I don't otherwise plan to change my routine or use in any way, although curiosity will now bubble up and I'll be looking to see how that plays out. If you've read this far, you'll understand that this was a good choice for me and I have been satisfied with the outcome of this purchase. Hopefully it may help with the consideration of this particular model and style of razor. Great. The 39C is game changer. It shaves smoothly and effortlessly .Paired with a feather blade the combination slices through facial hair with the greatest of ease.

Awesome slant razor!

I had a different 3 piece slant razor before that often got clogged by my thicker whiskers and needed to have the head loosened to clear the clog. This led to its threads getting worn out and needing to replace the razor. As my old one was discontinued, I looked for a similar slant razor and found this one. Boy, am I glad that I did! I love this razor, it has a very nice feel and a large opening for cut whiskers to go through so it never clogs! The shave is very comfortable and close, I am very satisfied and would recommend this razor to everyone!!
