    • For hygienic reasons, no used products can be accepted. Merchandise damaged by the buyer is not eligible for refunds.

First Impressions

My beloved old 38c broke. I loved it so much I bought a new one. Unfortunately my 38c was a much more aggressive razor than the new 38c. It is so mild that even with multiple passes it left a lot of rough stubble. If you need a mild razor then this current version of the 38c might be for you but I am not sure it is going to work for me. I also found that the tightening knob on the bottom of the razor loosens during the shave, I had to tighten it several times.

Complete Newbie - Great experience

As a first safety razor and being someone who has never ever enjoyed shaving, this razor has changed all that. It gives a great shave with a forgiving amount of play in the blade pitch. The weight of the handle is great and effortlessly glides through the stubble. Changing blades is simple and straightforward using a screw closure meaning a firm hold on the blade, ensuring you get a great shave every time. Using the right shaving cream and pre-shave oil certainly helps to get a close shave without irritation. Truly a great first safety razor.

Worth It

It literally arrived in the post, and because I waited 4 days in anticipation of this arrival, I was able to shave right away. I used Derby blades, which in the past were the best for my face. I had a Edwin Jagger for 5 years but the Chrome had peeled away causing skin rips. The weight is very nice and of course the product is immaculately conceived and executed. I did not know the head would screw in from the bottom, and I like it. If you’re at all concerned about the quality or price don’t worry it’s a great product and looks stunning. As I said I used a new Derby blade, and the Fendrihan Charcoal cream, the shave produced no tears or bleeding which has been a consistent issue in the past.

Razor

This razor does the job. I was having trouble with butterfly closure razors so I ordered this make which has one simple screw on head. Nice heft to the handle gives a close shave. I use it on my legs because I am done destroying the environment by purchasing pink plastic disposable razors.

Game Changer

I had dabbled with a DE in the past using a cheap $10 Lord DE with Bluebird blades and it was a total disaster, I was nothing but nicks and razor burn and the shave was not all that close. So I returned to cartridge razors. Wanting to try the DE again I decided to get a decent quality razor and a pack of feather blades to see how it would work out. I just had my Merkur 38C delivered yesterday and was nervous to see if I had just blown a lot of money. Hesitantly I tried it out just now and did not want to get too fancy so I just stuck to a single pass. Immediately I realized this was the best shave I have ever had and I have still yet to master the art of using a DE, I cannot recommend this product enough. I have never been a dry shaver but had poor experiences with DEs and not that I have the proper gear I am a very happy camper! I admittedly did nick myself on one spot, but I was expecting to have to go through a huge learning curve, this blade did all the work and I have the best shave I have ever had. I am looking forward to my next shave, and I think I have a new store to **** up my hard-earned money!
