An excellent value for the price!

After using this razor for a year, it has become my primary go-to razor, and I have since relegated my old Mühle R89 to being stored in a drawer as a backup razor. There is a slight learning curve when you first start using a slanted razor, but it won't take long at all for you to get acquainted with it. (Tip: use a very light touch, especially if you prefer blades that are on the sharper side.) Slanted razors are far more efficient at slicing through coarse hair due to the blade torsion that the slanted head creates, so if you're like me and have facial hair like pine needles, you will gleefully appreciate what a razor like this is capable of. The only thing that I find slightly annoying about this razor is that the blade alignment can be a little finicky sometimes. You'll have to play around with it a bit when you load a new blade in, but that isn't a big problem because after doing this a few times, you will soon figure out the quickest way to get it aligned properly, and this procedure will become automated in your memory. I find the best procedure is to barely tighten it only to the point where you can still move the blade around slightly, then adjust the blade while looking down at the head of the razor from a top-down perspective. This way, you can see both sides of the blade and know immediately if one side is protruding too much. Once you have sufficiently adjusted the blade, grip the sides of the head lengthways (where the non-sharp sides of the blade are) using your index finger and thumb to hold the head and blade firmly in place, then tighten the handle to completion with your other hand. It might take a few tries, but I've found this to be the best way to align the blade in just a few attempts. Fatip makes terrific, reasonably priced razors that feel great, perform extraordinarily, and look very sleek. These are made of 100% brass, so they will never shatter upon impact or corrode like some of the razors made from ZAMAK (zinc alloy) will. An added bonus of them being brass is that they have a nice density and feel very solid, unlike some razors on the market with lightweight handles that are hollow or aluminum. And since Italians take pride in their craftsmanship and don't manufacture junk, the fact that this is handmade in Italy just sweetens the deal even more. I should specify that only the "il Piccolo" model has a solid-brass handle. The other model with the thicker handle is also made of 100% brass, but the handle of that one is hollow. So if it's important to you that the entire razor is solid brass all the way through, be sure to purchase the "il Piccolo" model specifically.

First safety razor

The Fatip il piccolo storto has been my first safety razor. The handle has an excellent grip to it and it's well weighted. If you're new to traditional shaving it's an excellent choice. Overall, it's been a great purchase and could be one of the underated razors at this price point. I would highly recommend this Italian made beauty to anyone new or experienced in traditional wet shaving.

Great budget soap for shaving
I enjoy fancier shave soaps like Barrister and Mann's Seville but I am very pleased with the performance of this Proraso Blue soap! IT lathers up great in a shave bowl with my brush. Glad I Finally "Caved" and Bought the Ti22
Sure Titanium is more expensive but, if you have any skin allergies and/or LOVE a smooth glide (no pulling), this razor in Titanium is fantastic. Bought the "Mild" version as my "Daily Driver" and it's perfect for the job!
