love the handle, but brush sheds

I love the handle, and the brush looks great as a whole. I've been using it about 3 months now, and it sheds anywhere from 5 to 20 hairs per shave. I was expecting the shedding to stop after a couple weeks, but it shows no sign of slowing down. If it keeps up this brush will be sparse soon.

An excellent shaving brush - due to quality issues, I would not recommend purchasing it

I purchased the Simpson Chubby 2 Best Badger shaving brush from Fendrihan just over 2 years ago. I've used it 4-5 times per week for the past couple of years, and I love the way it lathers and completely covers my face with shaving soap. It is without a doubt the best shaving brush I have every used. Unfortunately, a few weeks ago I noticed a crack forming in the handle. As I've continued to use the brush, the crack keeps getting larger (see the photos). I have always taken good care of the brush, rinsing it and letting it air dry in an upright position on the bathroom counter. I have never dropped my brush. I was frustrated to learn that - despite the expensive price - there is no warranty provided with Simpson's shaving brushes, and they can only be returned within 30 days of purchase. Given the high price and the poor experience I've had, I can't recommend this brush.

A True Wet Shavers Brush!

This brush is simply amazing! I own many high end silvertips but this is an everyday work horse. If you're looking for that perfect shaving brush that has a nice big comfortable handle-and a perfect addition to your best high end brush collection then look no further! You definitely get your money's worth with the amount of badger hair and Yes it has a lot of backbone- but over time (two weeks or so) the brush softens up, and once you get used to the new lathering technique this brush you'll find is great with everything, soaps, creams, croaps etc. as long as you don't soak the brush (because it retains a lot of water and you'll get soap all over the handle which gets kinda slippery) you'll be making mountains of lather! -just go slow and let the brush do all the work :)

Invigorating

As advertised, the Chubby 2 is a bit stiffer than my other Rooney, Kent or smaller Simpsons brushes . It lathers well when presoaking only the tip third of the brush. I have not noticed any hair loss in the first three weeks of use.

Best Ever

Upon receipt , mind you a very fast delivery, when I opened the package I noticed that the brush shed like crazy (a handful per stroke!). I was about to return it. However, after a couple of use I hardly noticed any shedding. I rate this brush ''The Best Brush Ever Made".

i just received this brush and have used it only twice and every time i use it plenty of hair falls out. is this normal?

Some shedding is not unusual in the first several days of usage as, especially with hand tied badger bundles, not all the hairs may reach into the glued base. However, if the shedding continues after 3-4 weeks of usage, please contact us at sales@fendrihan.com since that might indicate a defective brush.

Excellent razor

Good weight, mechanism holding the cartridge on seems solid thus far, and overall build quality is excellent. No issues getting the cartridge on/off and the various widths would fit in pretty much any counter top stand. Hoping this lasts more than a few years unlike the last one from the grocery...

Fantastic

This soap is awesome. You get a nice sized block of it and it’s soft enough to take a bit out to put in your bowl. I hit it with a wet brush and got an incredible shave and post shave feeling. Very luxurious! :-)

Bought this for maintenance on a boar bristle and a wooden bristle from the same order. Glad I did. It's the perfect little tool to refresh the other two. Incredibly well made. Recommend highly.

Gentle detangler

Everything about this brush is remarkable. It's the best detangler and styling brush ever for thick & wavy hair. The wooden bristles feel great, the handle is pleasant to hold, it's small and sturdy enough to drop into a tote pocket for all-day use. I'm completely happy with the purchase.

Dealing with Fendrihan is always a pleasure. Great product availability and outstanding service! My Simpsons Captain brush is now my favorite. The knot is a dream. The longer handle keeps your knuckles out of the lather bowl and eliminates banging against the sides. It is a beauty, I love it.

Over the past ten years, I continue to use this cream. The quality remains the same, and offers a fantastic smooth silky shave. Light scent, but fresh. Non lingering. The larger jar lasts about 1-1.5yrs.
