Great razor to add to your collection

This is a really fun to use old-school throwback razor. Did a great job of mowing down a weeks worth of Thick course stubble. Just go slow and treat it with respect for a great bbs shave!

Fatip Piccolo

There are some mixed reviews on this one eh? I would say, if you like the looks of the razor and you feel comfortable manipulating the blade from time to time, you should go for it. The razor holds the blade firmly in position with no chatter and it stays put. I would give this razor a 5.5/10 in aggressiveness and the open comb makes it quite efficient. Any tiny dents or finish issues that i saw ( I would recommend the nickel), were either under the finish or negligible in my opinion. Overall, a great deal for the money, considering the brass construction, and a great shaver!

Disappointed

Well I was tempted by the ad which said I was getting two combs with the razor. When I clicked on the chrome razor it was sold out already which seems to be a trend of late. So I went to the more expensive gold plated Fatip thinking it came with two combs as well. Well it did not and it's an open comb razor. Now I have spent over $1500 on this site and have about six razors including a Muhle R41. This Fatip is junk. It makes so many minor cuts while shaving I look like a zombie. Now a razor like the Muhle will cut you every once and a while but it is one cut usually and then you address that damage easily. This Fatip as mentioned leaves a lot of minor cuts and a face full of blood spots. I say pass on this one. So disappointed overall.

VERY POOR blade alignment-Fatip Piccolo Open Comb (Nickel finish)

Wanted to try an open comb DE razor. After reading so many good reviews about the Piccolo, thought it'd be one to try. Very, very disappointed in the poor blade alignment, i.e., the blade exposure is noticeably uneven, so much so...that one side of the blade is nearly 1/2 mm more exposed than the other. This in turn really provides a bad shave. Tried to fit in a few different brands of blades, Astra, Wilkinson, Shark...all with the same result, so it's definately an issue with the razor. The finish quality isn't the best either, which is too bad since the weight of this razor is perfect. Really wanted to like this razor, but it's no good. Stay away from this one folks.

It doesn't get better than this.

I owned the older model of the Piccolo purchased in 2011. In 2013 Fatip significantly redesigned and improved its build quality. I stayed away from the "new" Piccolo because of my experience with the old one. Boy did I deny myself the excellent experience that the Piccolo provides. The build quality is superb. Blade alignment is spot on. The razor is pretty heavy for its size and feels "substantial." In terms of shave quality, I have had some of my best shaves with this razor, all of them completely comfortable and bloodless!!! I would categorize the aggressiveness of the Piccolo to be about five out of ten. (For reference I consider the Merkur 34C to be a four out of ten. The Piccolo is super efficient and not that aggressive. Finally, nothing beats the customer experience of dealing with Fendrihan. By the time you place an order, the razor is practically there!
