Feel the cool

Overall a great pre-shave product if you like the camphor/ menthol mix of ingredients. I’m not sure if it is the cooling ingredients or some other ingredient in the mix that will become irritating if left on the skin for too long before applying the shave soap or cream. I would prefer a product without the cooling ingredients.

Not as Fragrance Free as you may expect

First. The performance is excellent. Does a great job as a pre shave. Well worth a try. However, there is a strong menthol fragrance when first applied. It rapidly gives way to whatever our shaving soap is, but I was rather surprised at first. Other than that a great product.

The only pre-shave that work for oily skin

I used it before and I gave it a good review. I bought and use the PREP and The herlbal pre shave from Taylor of old street and both reacted on my skin. If you have sensitive/oily skin and you want to soften your facial hair I recomended you Edwin Jagger pre shave. If you can stan oils and gels and want a protective film on your skin used something else.

I'll try a different product next time (Verbena lime oil, perhaps)

I must be honest...I am not a fan of this particular product. It is a light creamy lotion that just doesn't seem to add any benefit. I applied the pre-shave lotion then used my brush to apply the shaving lather. The lather just mixed with the pre-shave lotion. I prefer to use a pre-shave oil. An oil will remain on the skin to provide a thin lubricating film without mixing with the shaving lather (well, not much anyway...oil and soap will always mix to some small degree). Another small point of irritation (no pun intended) is that the cap is super-tight. I had to hold the tube very tightly and and use a lot of force to open the cap. When it finally opened, the pre-shave lotion squirted everywhere. I lost about 1/10th of the tube contents. Also, it is very mentholated. My skin had that familiar cool tingling feeling. I wouldn't want to get that in my eyes. That shouldn't be a problem. I rarely shave my eyeballs!
