Billy Jealousy Hot Towel Pre-Shave Treatment

Bought this product about 3 months ago, I was intrigued by the marketing that proposed 'the modern way to wet shave' . Well it took me a good 2 months to find out how this product could work for me and my thick beard. For me, just waltzing up to the bathroom sink to shave pre-wetting and heating up my face strictly with this product is a no no. It would not help at all. BUT the following formula did work for me and reduced the time to wet shave. Here's how: 1. get in the shower, have on hand the Billy Jealousy pre-shave hot treatment handy and lastly the hydroplane product by the same maker. 2. shower as normal but make sure to cream on the pre-shave treatment on your wet face as you continue your body washing protocol (sorry, army talk). In this hot shower environment you will really feel the hot treatment at work, don't worry this is not a dangerous temperature. 3. after 2 - 3 heat treatments, rinse loosely and add the hydroplane. Without Hydroplane, it seems I don't get the benefits of the pre-shave hot towel cream. 4. get out of the shower, dry up BUT DON'T DRY YOUR FACE. 5. Immediately put on a thick layer of your shaving cream ( I use Simpson's, with the world's cheapest brush that has soaked in super hot water). Don't get me started on how much I love Simpson's shaving cream!! 6. shave. You will find you need not replenish the hydroplane even after your first pass and onto your second, it seems a good portion of hydroplane is still available and may have been locked in by the shaving cream? Your time saving is the regular hot towel treatment now removed from your pre-shave steps. I think these 2 products can become part of my regular shaving protocol except when away from home for work; I find the bottles too big. When on the road or in the field I just bring a blade holder and a pre-lathered brush in a Ziploc bag. I give these 2 products a 4.5 star rating because of the innovation they bring to a classical problem. If they provided travel sizes and provided more information I would rate a 5. I am very likely to repurchase these products over time.
