OK so long as you're not using a fountain pen

Moleskine is one of the biggest names in stationery. It is to notebooks as Guinness is to stout. But the paper just isn't made to stand up to fountain pens. The ink feathers and even bleeds through, depending on what pen you're using. I went through several before trying Leuchtturm1917, but ultimately I've gotten the best results from Rhodia.

Spectacular!

I've used these books for some time now, and this price is the same as I could get locally. Very high quality binding, very high quality paper, comes with a built-in bookmark and a built-in elastic to keep it closed. With a rigid cover, it will last for some time. For an idea of just how good these are, I have a smaller version of this which I've used and re-used with pencil, and it shows no signs of giving up. I haven't needed to tear a single page out.. I can just erase and write anew.. if I'm careful by using a softer pencil and not pressing too hard to "dent" the paper. I've written in a couple of these in pen, and this paper is definitely superior to the everyday stuff. I'm using these as I'll fill my bookshelf with my writing. If you're serious about writing and want to keep something more permanent, or you want something that will travel well and isn't ghetto like a binder, then consider one of these. In black. Why would these come in red?
